COVID-19: Emerging from an emergency

In the midst of the global pandemic, our commitment to you remains the same: We want to teach you the skills so you can be resilient.

These are challenging times, and during this global pandemic being resilient may seem impossible. Over the next few months, all of us at some point are going to feel lost, confused, frightened, angry, or sad. There is no shame in this, in fact all the questions you may have are legitimate.

What is going to happen to me? Am I going to become unwell? How can I manage my relationship or family-life in quarantine? How can I be on my own in an lockdown? Will I have a job at the end of this? How will I manage, with all this destruction going on around me?

The future is unknown, the past is a memory, but right now using mindfulness we can be awake and alive to the present moment. It's important to remember this too shall pass. In the meantime, protecting your physical and mental wellbeing one day at a time should be a top priority. Ever since Kevin Redmayne Resilience Coaching launched as a service, back in 2018 (then known as Skylark Recovery) we have been committed to providing one-to-one resilience-based skills training to help you do three things: survive the crisis, overcome adversity and regain your life. Today, our commitment remains the same. The world is made up of individuals and if only a few of us can remain calm and centred in chaos, while still being kind and compassionate, to ourselves and others, we will be making life better.

Right now, we're cutting the price of one-to-one consultations from £80.00 to £50.00, a reduction of almost 40%. We hope you take this gesture as it was intended: Not as a marketing trick, but a way to make the service more accessible to those dealing with complex difficulties.

The good news is that we've always been an online service: All one-to-one consultations are conducted via Skype Video, or via other platforms which allow for video-based technology such as Facebook Messenger or FaceTime. This is again, to ensure services are accessible to everyone. In a time of worldwide lockdown, we can continue to provide support for people across many different parts of the world.

The tagline for Kevin Redmayne Resilience Coaching is be your own healer, however, right now you may be feeling like you are just trying to survive. Such phrases may seem trite, but behind the words is the sincere belief that with the right skills, we all have the ability to manage whatever the situation.

What is resilience? It is best summed up as the ability to bear what's unbearable in a state of equanimity, and loving-kindness. By focusing on five areas of self-improvement: Mindfulness, Relationship-building, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Story Reconstruction, you can indeed fortify yourself for life's challenges, including this pandemic.
